چکیده

In ISO 18000-6c passive RFID (EPCglobal Gen2) communication, a tag collision is caused when multiple tags respond to the reader simultaneously. This research proposes a means to resolve the tag collision using the well known statistical signal processing technique Independent Component Analysis (ICA) in real time as specified by the protocol. The hardware fixed point algorithm was optimized for FPGA implementation and achieved satisfactory resolution results on both stationary and moving tags.

افزایش سرعت شناسایی در سیستم‌های RFID

Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a new generation of automatic identification systems, based on wireless communication technology. In these systems all the tags using one communication channel to communicate with the reader. When two or more tags transmit their data to the reader simultaneously, their transmitted signals will collide. Resolving this collision has a direct impact on the ...

Backscattering UWB/UHF hybrid solutions for multi-reader multi-tag passive RFID systems

Ultra-wideband (UWB) technology is foreseen as a promising solution to overcome the limits of ultra-high frequency (UHF) techniques toward the development of green radio frequency identification (RFID) systems with low energy consumption and localization capabilities. While UWB techniques have been already employed for active tags, passive tags solutions are more appealing also due to their low...

IMPROVING READER PERFORMANCE OF AN UHF RFID SYSTEM USING FREQUENCY HOPPING TECHNIQUES By JU-YEN HUNG Bachelor of Management in Management & Information

A new RFID passive tag reading model reducing the average tag reading time in denseenvironments is introduced. It is shown that by using frequency hopping techniques ourmodel can reduce external interference as well as the number of collisions during thereading processes. The simulation results have further proven that our new model cansignificantly reduce the average tag readin...

Design and Implementation of Reader Baseband Receiver Structure in a Passive RFID Environment

In this chapter, we present a demodulation structure suitable for a reader baseband receiver in a passive Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) environment. RFID refers to a technology which uses radio communications to contactlessly identify a tagged physical object [1-2]. An RFID system may include a plurality of electronic tags on objects, animals, and other things having unique identificati...

Linear model of Adapting Frame Size in DFSA of Passive GEN2 RFID systems

Low costs of passive UHF RFID tags, as well as their simplicity makes them appropriate for the localization and tracking services in today’s fast-moving, information rich trading networks. However, a few disadvantages of passive RFID technology performances, as a reading range of passive tags and high collision rate during RFID reader-tag communication, still needs quality of service improvemen...
